2. Heather Honey: From the rugged mountainous regions of Crete comes our Heather Honey, with its robust flavor and rich amber color. Its distinct taste makes it an excellent accompaniment to cheese or a natural sweetener in hot drinks.

Area

Cretan honey is widely renowned for its purity and high nutritional value. The local flora supports organic cultivation, and the area's thyme and pine trees remain free from intensive farming. Melopeion Fylladitakis owns a private production workshop in Kakodiki, Kantanos-Selino province, Chania prefecture. This region boasts rich flora, nourished by the pristine waters of Kakodiki river, untouched by tourism or residential development, and far from harmful pesticides.

Across Crete, we have over 1,000 beehives located in carefully selected areas to ensure the bees can collect pure pollen undisturbed. Combining traditional wisdom with modern expertise, we time the harvest perfectly to capture all the honey's nutrients.

Process

The bees and their pristine ecosystem play the most crucial role in honey production. The beekeeper acts as a mediator and quality controller, allowing the bees' natural processes to yield an exceptional product in terms of quality and quantity.
