eladaki organic cultivation

"eladaki" extra virgin olive oil is an olive oil of high nutritional value, of organic cultivation that comes from our traditional centuries-old olive groves. a mild bitter taste. It is a highly polyphenolic olive oil, with a fruity aroma that rewards you the moment you open the bottle. By tasting it, you can distinguish its spicy elements, leaving you a mild bitter taste at the end.

Tsounati variety

The olive variety is Mastoidis, also widely known as "Tsounati" with it’s name originating to the shape of the fruit which resembles to a female breast. Its fruit is off medium size, the leaves are thin and pointed and the height of the tree can reach and exceed ten meters. The oil content of the fruit is +/- 30%. It is a purely Cretan variety and one of the oldest in the Mediterranean region, with certain olive trees being 4000 years old.

The area - Rodakino village

Our olive groves are located in an area of special natural beauty that is part of the Natura 2000 network. Our village is called Rodakino and is located 43km southwest of the prefecture of Rethymno in the Municipality of Agios Vassilios, with rich history and important participation in all historical events that took place in Crete. A genuine farming area that in recent years is experiencing serious tourist growth due to its idyllic virgins beaches crystal clear clear waters.

When the olives reach their perfect ripeness, our diligent farmers delicately gather the fruit from the branches. Placing them into sturdy plastic crates, the olives begin their journey to the olive mill within a few hours, ensuring the preservation of their freshness and flavor.

The olives undergo the transformative olive oiling process, where the ancient art of cold pressing is employed. This traditional method extracts the precious oil while maintaining its natural goodness, imparting a distinguished taste and preserving the beneficial polyphenols. After the process, the oil is carefully filtered and stored in special tanks, patiently awaiting its moment of perfection.
